About Us
At Hazeldean Daycare and OSC our purpose is to enhance each child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
We believe that all children have the right to quality care and we value and respect children of all races, religions, cultures, and abilities. We attain high quality care through providing children and families with a flexible, loving, and stimulating atmosphere where independence is encouraged and self-esteem is built.
We further believe that children learn through play and thus we provide enriching play experiences from which the children learn and grow.
A flexible daily program will respond to the needs and interests of the children, individually, and in group settings. We work to make each day a happy learning experience for children by including opportunities for socialization, group play, reading aloud, dress-up/costume time and arts/crafts.
Our families are unique and bring a wide variety of experiences to our program. We serve families of diverse race, language, religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status, ability, gender or sexual orientation. We value inclusiveness, multiculturalism, independence and dignity.
Hazeldean is a beautiful , mature, treed residential neighbourhood in Edmonton. It has a population of 3273 and over 1500 households. The neighbourhood overlooks the Mill Creek Ravine and is bounded on the west by 99 street, on the south by 63 avenue, on the east by Mill Creek Ravine, and on the north by 72 avenue. There are two schools in the neighbourhood, a convenient mini-mall, access to pedestrian and bike trails, and a fantastic local community league right across of our centre.
Originally opened in 1999 in former St. Margaret Catholic School, centre has been owned and operated by Irina Nanu and Catalina Voicu since 2009. Since then the centre has gone through many changes, the bigest by far has been moving location in 2016. The program continues to grow with the child care trend and updates.
